Support a good cause, win a game!

Kirby Extra LifeWe’ve talked about Extra Life here on BigHeartedGamers quite a bit.  And why wouldn’t we?  It’s a great framework for gamers to raise money for local Children’s Network hospitals.

In fact, we’ve featured quite a few different gamers here who have used Extra Life to rise funds for their local hospitals.  I’m sure you’ve read about all of them, right?!  If not, get on it!  These gamers are awesome and you should know about them!

Kirby is a Canadian gamer who runs COGconnected, a gaming site focused on news, reviews and general gaming information. Kirby has also been granted an Xbox MVP award by Microsoft for his work in the gaming community.

True to his nature, Kirby is giving back by running an Extra Life campaign to raise money for B.C. Children’s hospital.

Kirby and his beautiful family!
Kirby and his beautiful family!

Kirby has this to say about this current campaign:

Once again I’m on a mission to save kids and I need your help. B.C. Children’s Hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few. I have had a close friend, who is like my brother, who has utlized their services in a past on a long term basis for the health of their son, so this hits home a little closer for me.

I’ll be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG’s! For me it’s all about the video games of course, and I”ll be gaming for 24 hours straight. It’s my sincere hope that you’ll be able to support me with a donation.

If you have an extra minute and a few extra dollars, head on over to Kirby’s donation page and please take some time to donate to a worth cause and to support another Big Hearted Gamer!
