What was the game that turned you into a gamer?
It’s a toss up between Super Mario Brothers and Legend of Zelda. I use to play those with my dad and brother when they first came out. Also what took me to the next level of being a and renewed my passion for gaming was Halo. I remember the long nights of connecting four of the original Xbox’s together and holding tournaments between all of my friends.
What video game charities do you play or volunteer for?
What made you decide to play for charity?
It was a little over 2 years ago when my 4 year old niece passed away from a tragic accident. She was treated at the children’s hospital. They were able to give her a fighting chance and did all they can for her. At that time I decided I wanted to get involved with the Children’s Hospital. Then I remembered I heard about Extra life. What a better way than to combine my love for video games and helping out the kids.
How do you promote your campaigns?
I use a lot of social media and also volunteer at a lot of evens to help out Extra Life. I’m also in the process of starting a company called Nerdology5280 that will work a lot with Extra life to help promote it.
What are some of your most rewarding experiences in gaming for charity?
It’s always rewarding when I hit a goal. I tend to set my goals a little high, so when I’m able to hit them, it’s an amazing feeling. The best part is meeting all of the people that I have met through various events that are interested in joining the cause. Also the friends that I have made too that that were already involved.
Is there anything else we should know about you in regards to being a “Big Hearted” Gamer?
Remember in the end it’s all for the kids. That’s all that really matters.
